The contract connects partners, documents, tasks, service cases and financial performance.
What can you do in this module?
- 01
Incoming and outgoing contracts, internal and partner references, and configurable automatic numbering.
- 02
Record start, expiry, notice deadlines and automatic renewal, with checks that the dates are consistent.
- 03
Controlled status transitions, explained closures and a chronological change history.
- 04
Track amendments with their own reference, title, signing and effective dates. Record a breach as a separate risk indicator.
- 05
Partner and contact details at the time of the agreement are preserved when master data changes.
- 06
Search contracts, partners, contacts, categories, tags, permitted custom fields and document content. Concurrent editing checks protect newer changes.
Separate the business decision from contract status
Create a contract directly or from an opportunity. Check the imported estimated value against the final agreement. Enter internal and partner references, start, expiry and notice deadline. Enable automatic renewal only when it is actually part of the agreement.
Draft, In approval, Awaiting signature, Signed and Active represent different stages. An accepted proposal is not yet a signed contract. Process settings may restrict manual status changes that would bypass review.
Why is the total contract value not enough?
The headline value supports records and management reporting. Actual performance periods and invoicing follow contract lines: their quantity, unit price, currency, tax and recurrence. For support agreements, also assign the default response commitment to the contract.
An amendment preserves the previous agreement
Record an amendment with its own reference, title, signing date and effective date. Status history retains who changed what, when and why. If someone else has updated the record since you opened it, the system prevents you from silently overwriting the newer changes.
Availability and operating conditions
The current contract form supports the primary partner and primary contact. Organisation and contract permissions work together.
Available functions depend on your organisation’s setup and your permissions.
